Lucknow, Jan 15 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Monday said that her party will not join any alliance or party instead it will contest forthcoming Lok Sabha elections on its own on the strength of the poor and marginalised sections, especially Dalits, Tribals, extremely backward classes, Muslims and people from other religious minority communities with full preparations.

Besides, the BSP supremo also clarified that she was not going to retire from politics, instead she will remain devoted to strengthening the party till the last breath and the party workers should not get misled by such fake and baseless propaganda.

Addressing a press conference on the occasion of her 68th birthday, which is celebrated by BSP as Peoples Welfare Day, Mayawati said, "I would like to make it clear that our party will contest Lok Sabha election 'alone' with full preparation and strength on the strength of people belonging to all caste, Muslim and other religious minority communities."

She also released the 19th edition of A blue book 'Travelogue of My Struggle Ridden Life and BSP Movement' on the occasion.

She said that BSP formed the government with full majority in Uttar Pradesh in 2007 by contesting the elections alone. "Therefore, keeping this experience of ours in mind, our party will fight this Lok Sabha general election alone and will also maintain its distance from all the parties of the country having casteist, capitalist, narrow and communal thinking," she said.

The BSP supremo said, "Our party will not join any alliance or party in UP. It will not contest elections together with. Along with this, if the Lok Sabha elections are held in a free and fair manner like the assembly elections held in 2007 during which there was no rigging or irregularities in the EVMs, then this time our party will definitely get better results."

She claimed that BSP contests the elections alone instead of forming an alliance, because the supreme leadership of the party is in the hands of a Dalit towards whom the casteist mentality of most of the parties has not changed even now.

Mayawati said, "This is the main reason that in contesting elections in alliance, the votes of BSP go entirely to the parties associated with the alliance, but their own base vote and specially the votes of the upper caste community is not transferred and some special examples of this are that here in Uttar Pradesh."

She said that in 1993 when BSP fought election in alliance with Samajwadi Party (SP) it won only 67 seats, whereas SP had benefited more from it. "After that in the 1996 assembly election when BSP contested in alliance with the Congress Party, the party won only 67 seats and, in this election, too, the Congress Party had gained more," she said.

The BSP supremo said that her party is of the view that by contesting elections in alliance, BSP gets little benefit and suffers more loss, and it also reduces the vote percentage of the party. "The party forging an alliance gets full benefit. This is the main reason why most of the parties in the country want to contest elections in alliance with BSP," she said.

She said, "During the all India meeting of the party held last month, I had unanimously declared Akash Anand as my sole successor, and since then, this fake and incorrect news is also being spread in the media from time to time that It seems that now BSP chief is soon going to retire from politics in which there is not even an iota of truth, whereas even the last breath of my life will be devoted to strengthening the party. Party people should not be misled by this type of fake and wrong news."

Mayawati said that the ideology, principles and working style of Congress, BJP and all their allied parties are casteist, capitalist, narrow, communal and feudal, and these parties will never want to see the weaker section of the society standing on their feet by remaining in power.

She said that keeping all these things in mind, it is very important for the poor, labourers, unemployed and people of all sections of the Bahujan community to join BSP and bring it back to power.

Attacking SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, the BSP supremo said, "Recently, the way the SP chief changed his colour like a chameleon towards the BSP people within a few hours with the aim of misleading the party people as part of a well-thought-out strategy regarding the opposition's India alliance, BSO people should remain cautious."

Taking aim at the BJP, she said that the governments of casteist, capitalist, narrow and communal minded parties, instead of liberating the people from poverty, unemployment and inflation, have made them slaves, helpless and destitute by giving them small rations for free, while the society is her government had put the working class on its feet by providing them livelihood and employment in government and non-government sectors.

Mayawati said, "During the four-term government in UP under the leadership of our party, we have worked for the welfare of all and for the welfare of all, especially for the Dalits, tribals, extremely backward classes, Muslims and other religious minorities as well as the poor and labourers."

She said, "For the benefit and welfare of the unemployed, students, youth, women, businessmen, employees, farmers and other working people, many very important public welfare schemes have been started, which are now being copied by the governments of other parties in the country and by changing the name and form a little. They are trying to capitalise on it, but due to their casteist, capitalist, narrow and communal thinking, they are not able to get the full benefit from it."
